Hilltop Montessori School Receives LEED Certification
August 29, 2008, Mt. Laurel, AL - HKW Associates' designed Hilltop Montessori School will officially be awarded LEED Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) on Friday, August 29, 2008. LEED is the USGBC's leading rating system for designing and constructing the world's greenest, most energy efficient, and high performing buildings. Hilltop Montessori School is Alabama's first private school to receive LEED certification.
HKW Associates designed Hilltop Montessori School to achieve LEED certification for energy use, lighting, water and material use as well as incorporating a variety of other sustainable strategies. An exciting feature of the school is that it will serve as a community, and regional, eco-educational facility to educate others on the practice of sustainability and its benefits.
